Last night marks Ethan’s first Halloween!!!

Technically, it’s his second but he was only a few weeks old last year so I don’t think that matters.  Ethan dressed as a cowboy while Emily was an adorable bumble bee.  Emily really got the hang of things this year.  She would practice her “trick or treats”.  Once the door would open she’d get real shy and not say anything.  It was adorable.  Ethan was also VERY cute.  He got scared a few times and started to cry but other than that, he was adorable in his costume.

The new neighborhood goes ALL OUT when it comes to this holiday.  In the old neighborhood, I was known as the neighbor that played scary music but this neighboorhood puts any of my past efforts to shame.

When it comes time for Christmas, I need to step up my game.

Someone should’ve told me that moving with kids is hard work.  It’s been about 5 years since we moved so we knew it’d be hard work, but moving with little kids is nearly impossible.  Yeah, I know, I should stop whining, I am not alone.  At any rate, the big moving day was Saturday and everything went well.  Most of our stuff (with the exception of some garage items) is at the new house.  The kids are taking some time to adjust to their new rooms but other than that, things are good.

Unfortunately, Emmy woke up with a fever this morning so I’m home, nursing her to health as we watch countless Curious George and Little Eienstein episodes.

I am happy to report the wallpaper is down and the rooms have been primed and painted… HOORAY!  Thanks to everyone who provided advice on the best methods at removing it.

The carpets are being cleaned today and the big move happens Saturday so stay tuned for pictures.

The rumors are true, we’re moving into a new home in Rocklin (new to us).  Emily is super excited about getting her own room.  I too am excited for the increased space, storage, etc.  We’re in the process of packing up our current house.  Ir’s been 5 years since we moved and I forgot how much I LOVE moving.  If you’re in the area the weekend of the 23rd I am still recruiting help!!!

Like many homes, it needs a little work.  We’re the first owner of our current home and were active in the construction process and have spent the last 5+ years making changes.  Now that we have it the way we like it, we’re moving!!!!  What gives?

All joking aside, we’ve grown out of it quicker than we thought.

Enough about the house, let’s talk about the kids!  Emily is asking “why” about everything.  Ethan, on the other hand, mumbles a lot. He continues to thrive, walks like crazy and loves life.

Today marks our annual trip to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. CA.  We found Bishop’s last year and fell in love INSTANTLY, it’s like a mini ammusement park.

Both Ethan and Emily had a great time.  We took a hayride, picked out pumpkins and visited animals in the petting zoo.  We ended the day of fun with a warm slice of Apple pie.  It was PURE heaven.
