I normally write about the kids but since I’m in Southern California, I figured I’d throw in some comments about my business trip. I’m down here restoring IP connectivity to one of Air 1′s biggest stations – 90.1 KLRD. The transmitter is located 10,000 feet above the town of Yucaipa, CA and requires a helicopter 9 months out of the year to gain access. This time of year we’re able to access it by 4WD so no helicopter fun for me. 
Last week the tower took a lightning strike that blew out most of the IP based hardware. The site is solar powered and requires the Internet connection to remote control the transmitter and other hardware. After a challenging day, we got everything working with the exception of a few devices and all is well.
I’ll be headed home later today which is good cause I REALLY miss the kids… and Jennifer of course!!!
