Week 1 | Our first week of parenthood is complete (actually 8 days, I’m a day late)!!!

It’s 3:05am and I’m up with mommy for an early morning feeding. Emily is doing quite well. She’s gaining lots of weight now and she continues to be a hungry girl. She had a bit of jaundice initially but that seems to have worked itself out. Miss Emily was born with blue eyes (like many babies) but yesterday they started to change. Looks like she’s going to end up with either brown or hazel eyes…

The past week has been the hardest job I’ve ever had… I love this girl more than life itself so all the loss of sleep in the world doesn’t mean a thing. I have to say that one of our saving graces has been Jennifer’s mom (Grammy). She has been an absolute blessing to us! From helping around the house, to cooking dinner, to just being there to listen and give advice when Jennifer and I get warn down. My own mother may not be here to enjoy this with us, but Jen’s mom certainly has her spirit with her and I’m thrilled she remains here with us.
